The first BulkSolids India to be held in Mumbai from 2 -3 March 2010 will address the issues of handling, transportation and storage of bulk materials in the industry. With the growth of the Indian manufacturing and process industry, successful handling of bulk materials has assumed added significance. Some materials have to be handled within the plant in reasonably small quantity over short distance. These may include food and pharmaceutical products.

On the other hand materials like fly ash and cement are produced in very large quantity and have to be handled within the plant, transported to the user's site and then again handled at the site for utilization. The thermal power plants in India produce close to 140 million tonnes of fly ash every year! The material handling system for this application has to be highly reliable. There have been instances where power generation units had to be shut down due to poor performance of the fly ash conveying system leading to build up of ash in the electrostatic precipitator hoppers. Storage of bulk materials in silos for varying periods of time is another very crucial area which has been a subject of much industrial concern.

Sharing knowledge and ideas

Pharmintech 2010 is an international showcase for the processing and packaging technology that serves the pharmaceutical, personal care, nutraceutical, and related industries. Worldwide buyers travel to Bologna, Italy to see what exhibitors from various countries have to offer. Italy enjoys a leadership role in these industries. THE PHARMACEUTICAL AWARDS CEREMONY!

At the HSBC event,with more than2,000 people present,between suppliers And laboratory and press representatives, the best Brazilian suppliers in the pharmaceutical industry in 21 categories, and the pharmaceutical industry that Stood out the most in qualifying its suppliers were announced yesterday. This year, in addition to electronic direct voting, a counting system innovation was introduced that includes results validation by the Organizer Commission, then by an Auditing Commission and afterwards an audit of the procedures established by the Pharmaceutical Research Institute Foundation at the College of Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of Sao Paulo (Fipfarma) will be done.

"The Sindusfarma Quality Award was created to recognize the performance of pharmaceutical industry suppliers in reaching the quality standards demanded by the sector and to emphasize the importance of this collaboration in attaining the quality, safety and efficiency of pharmaceutical products", said the Executive Vice President of Sindusfarma during the opening of the event.

Vendors received a trophy especially designed for the event and the finalists received a medal. All those indicated will receive Certificates of Participation, which is another regulation this year.

At the end of the awards ceremony, the laboratories that stood out for their supplier qualification and guidance process were announced and awarded the Pharmaceutical Industry special class. Novartis Biociências won and the Aché and EMS laboratories were given Honorary Mentions.

After the ceremony, everyone was treated to a show by the band Paralamas do Sucesso.
